I Easy Paddy Continues His Winning Ways at Suffolk Coasts to Front-Running Tally For Fourth in Row at Meeting By AVERY BROWN Staff Correspondent J SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston. Mass.. June 26. — I. Cowans Easy Paddy literally stole the mile and a sixteenth feature here this afternoon as he opened a commanding lead with a rapid pace from the barrier and had enough cushion to coast to victory through the stretch for his fourth straight at the meeting. A length and a half back of the victor, Sid Bernsteins Usual took second place by a like distance over Starr Ranchs Fancy Talk. The hottest day of the current meeting took its toll on the regulars and the crowd dropped off to 9,856. The heat failed to halt the progress of the favorites, with Easy Paddy being the fifth to register. Jockey Marshall Wilder lost no time with Easy Paddy, sending him the first quarter mile in :24%, the half in :47% and completed the first six furlongs in 1:12%. By that time the Halberd gelding was a couple of lengths to the good of Fancy Talk and Usual and once straightened for the run to .he wire, the leader had his pursuers dizzy from the pace. The final time for the distance was a creditable 1:45% over the fast strip.
