Charles Town Horse Show Assn. Opens Annual Six-Day Meeting CHARLES TOWN, W. Va., June 26.— The Charles Town Horse Show Association opens its annual six -day meeting here tomorrow afternoon. This meeting precedes the regular Charles Town meeting which opens next Friday and continues through August 9. Racing secretary Fred Burton has arranged a fine eight-race program for the occasion and post time will be 2 p. m. EDT. Leeds K. Riely, secretary of the local plant, is quite optimistic about the combined meetings and predicts a substantial increase in attendance and play over last year. If the intense heat of the past week should subside by tomorrow afternoon a large crowd is expected to be in attendance for the inaugural program. The temperatures here in Charles Town have been hovering around the century mark for the past few days. The feature race is to be contested over the Charles Town Course and has drawn a limit field of 10 horses. Those accepting the conditions are, in post position order, H. C. Harners Navy Ace, Mrs. George Howes Icy Stare, J. Mathais Bonnie Bones, E. Noels Yazoo, Mrs. E. R. Myers Ballina-kill, R. Keareys King Hal, J. A. Gross Don Jr., L. E. Torreysons Toussiant, W. A. Size-mores Bluemission, and D. Garlands Publicity Miss. Publicity Miss, who has been at the Maryland half-mile circuit, appears to be the logical choice in this event. Her recent-races are all good and she has always fancied the Charles Town strip. Don Jr., Yazoo, and Bonnie Bones are also in from the fair circuit where they all showed good races and must be given a good chance in this event.
