AVon easily; second driving. Small Lady, off well and given a good ride, assumed command when called on and won with plenty In reserve. Intrigue suffered from Interference In the early stages and had to work through a rough trip In the first half, came fast when clear and finished gamely under a weak ride. Shunpike moved along gamely for the entire trip, but was not good enough to stall off the challenge of Intrigue. St. Bonnie quit after going three quarters. White Marsh showed speed, but could not last the distance. Maggie Dorion was never a serious contender. Gladiator was crowded and unseated his rider. Bullfinch, outrun In the early stages, saved ground on the turns, met with no Interference and, finishing gamely, wore down the badly ridden Whippoorwill in the last few strides. Whippoorwill, much the lest at the weights, was winning easily when Johanessen began easing up and failed to see Bullfinch coming with a rush. Macbeth ran a good race, but tired at the end. Ethics closed a tremendous gap and finished fast. Charley Thompson quit after going three quarters. Mon Amour and Novena tired after going a half. Black Burn showed a bit of ids true form today, got away well and rushed into a long lead, but began boring out on 1 he stretch turn, then stood a drive gamely, but loafed when Noone ceased driving him hard. Bertmont ran a good race, was in closa quarters in the last furlong and, with clear sailing, might have won. Black Hand wanted to play and ran well in spots only, but is a good colt. De Reszke ran in improved form, saved ground for the entire trip and wore down Ben Ilodder, but- tired slightly. Ben Hodder showed much speed for the first half, but tired badly when hard driven. Letty suffered from early Interference and was forced to go wide on the stretch turn, finished with a good burst of speed under a hard drive and got up in the final stride. Bitter Hand showed the most early sjeed, forced a stiff pace and outgamed Marvel P. In the closing strides. Marvel P. hung to Bitter Haud tenaciously up to within a few strides of the finish. Merrv Pioneer ran immuch improved form, moved up with a rush after going a half mile and, assuming the lead on the ftfetch turn, outgamed Jerry Lynch. The latter ran well, but was given a poor ride and tired in the final drive. Ilarmnkis also ran a good race, but suffered from much interference. Louis Kraft came with a rush from a poor beginning. Chub ran a good race under poor handling. Lemon Girl showed the most rarly speed, is worth remembering and will make good with better handling. Sincerity Belle went wide throughout and was eased up In the stretch. Payne got off badly, closed a big gap and tired from the effort. Aurumastcr ran in decided contrast to his last previous race.
