Morendo moved up fast on the far turn and. taking the lead when entering the stretch, held it through a long, hard drive Arab went through on the inside and saved much ground on the first turn and was a fast and game contender throughout the last half mile. Oddoletta ran a good race, but was tiring at the end. The Don showed the most early speed, but failed to stay, but Is likely to do so before long: Del Carina did not run her race. Tapiola and Grosgraln were interfered with on the first turn and Big Bow was carried very wide at this point. Scratched 50450 Woodlyn, 111; 5002S Great Eastern, 100. French Empress began quickest and, after opening a good lead, saved ground when entering the homestretch where she came through on the inside, but was tiring at the end and just managed to last long enough to stall off Belle of the Bay. The latter closed up witli a rush after going wide on the stretch turn and would have won In another stride. Imposition finished gamely and took third place in the last stride. Ben Fonso was crowded back at the start, but came fast In the stretcli under a drive and outvalued Minnehaha at the end. The latter ran a good race, but was tiring at the end. Tichimlii-o was on the outside of the leaders to the stretch turn and finished in behind them. Telepathy quit in the stvetch -ind did not run to his true form. Elliott regained form suddenly, was outrun for the first six furlongs, but closed a big gap and. finishing with a rush. Iore over against Adesso at the sixteenth post and Daly had to stop riding to straighten him out hut he was going away at tiie finish. Careless was much used in the early stages in racing Ivanhoe into defeat and tired in the last quarter. Adesso ran a good race and was hard ridden all of the last quarter. Ivanhoe showed speed, but quit hi the stretch and is best in soft going.
