Won driving; second the ame. pold Coin ran a smart race and displayed great gameness under a drive, began slowly and had to go around on the outside to get up, then finished fast and gamely. Galmeda, quick to get to going, escaped interference on the first turn, raced Merllngo and Minnehaha into defeat In the first six furlongs, but had nothing left when Gold Coin challenged. Marimbo closed a big gap and finished resolutely. Merllngo and Minnehaha ran well to the stretch. Dan-seuse was easily the best, ran a good race and would have won with riders reversed, but lost a lot of ground at the turn Into the homestretch. Oceaner showed a lot of early speed and carried Hopewell along at a clip that made the latter quit. Apple Sweet and Hopewell both showed early speed. Monet was best, ran under restraint for the first quarter and Gauze stole away from him on the far turn, but he moved up last when straightened out iu the stretch and was going away at the finish. Gauze was favored by the going and ran to his best form. Coruscate was fur back in the early stages, but finished with a rush anil is worth reniembering. Tinker was forced back on the backstretch and lost a couple of lengths, but ran a poor race and can do much better. Willie Newcomb went fairly well and probably was short. Koekaway . was much the best, but had a rough trip, was crowded back at the start and cut off and practically knocked out of the race before they had gone a quarter, but closed up gamely on the turn into the home-tretcii and was again interfered with. Vivat went well and outgamed Bert Osra when it came to the final drive. The latter moved up fast on the far turn, but tired in the last quarter. Don Alvaro and Albula showed speed. Tryon met with a lot of interference on the first turn and closed a big gap, but tired at the end. Nameoki was also a sufferer on the first turn. Big Bow went fairly well.
