NATHANSON DENIES SOME STATEMENTS. New Orleans, La., January 12. During the last day or two dispatches have been sent out of Hot Springs, Memphis anil New Orleans discussing various probabilities as to the racing at Oaklawn Pnrk. In some of these dispatches certain statements were attributed to George C. Bennett. Referring to these stories, Martin Nathanson said today: "I imagine Mrr Bennett- must have been misquoted, because he has no reason to speak for the Oaklawn Jockey Club. Also the intimation that Sheriff Williams is a stockholder In that club is absolutely without foundation upon fact. I have been, and am still, secretary of the Oaklawn Jockey Club, and, so far as I know, neither Mr. Magipn nor Mr. Haehmelster will have any connection with its coming meeting. "By authority of Messrs. Stewart and Condon, the work preliminary to that meeting is under my direction, and in a few days, the names of .officials and other information will be made public."
