Marion Rose, nearly left, on the extreme outside and carried hopelessly wide, tired after an excessive early effort. Princess Leal, a good looker, finished well. Bill Curtis beat the barrier, made most of his advantage and won all the way under alert and skillful handling, but pulled up lame. Holly Berry got to second place at the start and stayed there, putting up a very game closing struggle. Yellowstone got away -slowly and made up a lot of ground, loomed up menacingly in the stretch, but tired right at the end. Dusty Miller closed a big gap in the last half and finished like a shot. Dixie Lad, nearly left, also made up a lot of ground, but had no chance with his had rider. Gloomy Gus ran a bad race. Scratched 59!31 Haven Run, 107. Overweights Holly Berry, 3 pounds. Chief Bush Jumped into the lead at the start and made the running to almost the last stride before he suc-cumlied. Lcrida, always in close pursuit of the leader, stood a long and game closing drive. Ray, poorly handled and repeatedly shut off, finished well. Ripper, palpably short, ran under a pull for six furlongs and quit. Sherry was badly messed about on the Inside.
