NOTES OF THE TURF. John J. Honolian has purchased from J. C. Cooley the three-year-old Mark Meddle. The new steeplechase course at Belmont. Park has been completed. It Is -in the form of the figure eight and is confined to the infield. Bookmaker Frank Tyler will leave New Orleans for Texas during the week. He helped the business at the old track by bringing his money into the ring. Major T. J. Carson, of DIxIana Farm, Lexington, reports the second foal of the season In Kentucky. It is a bay filly by lien Strome Irvana, by Onondaga. The grandstand planned for the Montreal Jockey Clubs plant is an improved model of the structure at Saratoga. It will have a seating capacity of 4,000. II. P. Headley, of Lexington, Ky., has sold to W. O. Parmer, of Nashville, Tenn., the three-year-old colt Toastmaster, by Ornament My Favorite, by Favor. II. T. Wilson, Jr., has leased from R. J. Hancock the racing qualities of the two-year-old chestnut colt Red River, by Fatherless Lizzie H., until December ::i, 190!. The racing qualities of Jack McKeon, Solly M. and Sunup for this year have lieen leased by F. T. Mee-l.an from F. J. Lantry. The last named two are tyo-year-olds. Scott Hudson is at New Orleans. He has been there for a week and it is said that he has picked winners with profit. His horses are at Lexington in charge of Wayne Lewis. Trainer Mulhnlland Is having his troubles with the Bennett horses at Crescent Park. Plnsticker seems to lie the best In the stable just now. Dishabille, It is said, is badly off her feed. J. B. Ilaggin has renewed his agreement with W. B- Jennings as regards the running qualities of. Proper, Tocolaw, Letola. Conrled and Invoice and with A. J. Joyner as to Watergrass and Cressina. Sports of the Times says the United Hunts Racing Association, which held its first meeting at Morris Park last season, will probably build a course somewhere In the neighborhood of Belmont Park. The three-year-old chestnut filly Florazonde, by His Highness Rosebud, by Wlldidle, is dead. This, filly was the property of W. L. Powers. She started nine times, but was never a winner. She was twice second and seven times unplaced. Flis, the five-year-old chestnut horse by Saraband Alouette, bred In England, brought over from Russia and entered for the big spring handicaps, is the property of Frank Star. Willie, Caywood and Frank Frlsbie. The last two named have one-quarter Interest each. The two-year-old bay colt by Royal Flush III. Pitonisa is dead. This colt was one of the lot purchased at the Raneho del Paso yearling sale in September by Matt Byrnes for J. W. Hennlng, the Wall Street broker, whose colors will be seen for the" first time this year. The price paid for this colt was 00.
