San Francisco, Cal., January 20. The phenomenal growth of thoroughbred racing luring the last decade in California will reach its zenith with the running of the rich Burns Handicap tomorrow, unless ail signs fail. Preparations are in progress for handling a crowd of 20,000 people. For the first time the inner Held will lie thrown open to the public. Summer-like weather is assured for tomorrow ami a grand field of horses will start for the big race.
