Blue Dale showed early speed and. racing Irena A. into defeat in the lirst quarter, finished gamely, Frances II. finished fast after getting away angled up. Irena A. was speedy, but tired and will probably run better presently. Little Boot was eased up at the tinlsh. Ronay went well. French Empress was unluckv, but linislied gamely. The latter re-aliicd her peed suddenly, moved up with a rush on the far turu and made a determined effort, but could not pilte get up. Bazil was going fastest of the first three at tlie finish anil would have won in a few more strides. Brush-Ion finished well, but ran disappointingly. Foreigner closed a bis gap. Harry Stephens closed up with a rush on tlie turn for home and was hard ridden all of tlie last furlong, but could not get to the winner. Devout was much used In setting tlie pace and tired when tlie deciding racing came. Water Dog bolted to tlie outside fence on tlie first turn and was on the outside for the remainder of the trip. The latter showed a rare turn of speed mid set a fast pace, but had nothing left when the winner challenged. Lyman Hay went well and was bard ridden all through tlie last furlong to stall off Oddoletta. The latter closed a big gap and finished last. Doctor Dan and Ever Near showed early speed.
