SCHREIBERS LONG AND EARLY LeAd. For the first twenty-two racing days of this year the winnings of Barney Schreibers horses at Oakland aud Ascot Park foot up .r,0Sr.. This is more than has been won by any other owner in the United States during the same period and is nearly twice as much as lias been won by W. B. Jennings, who has ,070 to his credit at the San Francisco track. At Oakland alone the Schreiber horses have won 3,4S5. At Ascot Park S. M. Williams is the leader for these twenty-two days witii ,4:55; at Crescent Park it is W. S. Williams with a credit of ,520, and at City Park Edward Corrigan with ,080. The winnings of the Schreiber horses in 1005 aggregated 0,o:!0, so in twenty-two days of this year they have won nearly one-third of the amount accumulated through all of the previous twelve mon t lis. Success in the Burns Handicap today would give the Schreiber stable a long lead In the race for the pinnacle in the list of winning owners tliis year. This, however, the Missouri breeder can hardly accomplish without the annexation of a goodly number of prizes in the east. He has no entries in the stakes for any of the spring meetings, but has recently stated to horsemen at Oakland his intention of entering a number of horses in the events at Saratoga and the fall meetings at other I New York tracks. I
