FINING OF JOCKEY JORDAN IS RECALLED. St. Louis, Mo., January 2."5, lDOfi. Editor Daily Racing Form: In your issue of this morning you say that the 00 line Imposed upon jockey nuchannu at Ascot Park Is probably the largest on record In American turf history. There may be no record of the fact in the annals of the turf, but many years ago Jimmy McLaughlin, who was then starter at the St. Louis Fair Grounds, lined Frankie Jordan ?1,KK for misbehavior at the post. The lino was promptly paid by Jordan. The late Charles O. Mauitt, who was then the leading sportsman of Missouri and president or the St. Louis Fair Association, returned the money to Jordans mother after having retained It for two years. Aery Truly, H. D. W.
