RELIABLES BROTHER IS MUCH ADMIRED. Regarded as Best of Newton Benningtons Collection of Highly Bred Youngsters. New York, March 0. In the Bennington stable at Gravesend track there are twenty-two two-year-olds with the bluest of blue blood running through their veins. All of them, with one exception, were bred at the Haggin establishments, and consequently come highly recommended so far as ancestry is concerned. This lot Is the pick of the yearlings purchased in 1903, as twelve of the latter were shipped to New Orleans two months ago and were ultimately sold after showing what they could do uuder saddle. In the opinion of .experts who have inspected the Bennington two-year-olds at the Brooklyn. Jockey Clubs track, the most for midable youngster is a bay colt, as yet unnamed, by Watercress Arnette. He is a full brother to Reliable, the noted weight carrying sprinter of two years ago, and also to Edna Jackson, a fast filly which won several valuable stakes last season for Senator McCarren. This colt is splendidly put together and has shown much speed In his trials, and is believed to be the coming mainstay of the stable, as he has wintered well, and is what the trainers call "a real nice horse." Another colt by Watercress Braw Lass, which has been named Paumonok, j is a .half brother to Niblick and Early Boy, and gives promise of becoming a high class racer. An i unnamed bay colt by Star Ruby Aura II., Is out of a half sister to the dam of Sadducec. Mr. Bennington has given the name De Mund to the chestnut colt by Goldfiuch Graciosity. The colt by Watercress Vernette, is a half brother to Sandy Andy and St. Roche. Then a half brother to the old campaigner and stake winner Old England, a colt by Watercress Queen Bess, has received the name of Waterbury, while Greeno, by Greenan Tongese, is a half brother to the stake winners High Order and Tongorder. A line colt by Toddiug-ton Misfortune is a half brother to Campaigner and Iola. The stable has another promising cojt In a son of Royal Flush III. Extract which is closely related to Daisy Green. Extralaw. Essence Heartease, Norinandie and Solution. Gold Note, a j half brother to Tower of Candles and Water Tower, a colt by Toddingtou Duchess of Kendal, has bean named Ellicut and is highly regarded. j Probably the best filly in the string is a half ; sister to Hurstbourne and Sandhurst. She bears the name of Miss Spooner and is by Star Ruby, out of Flora Hurst. Dollie Dollars Is another fetching filly, by Toddlngton Nadavls and a halt sister to Rainier. Longway is an appropriate name for a son of Longstreet Footsore, and may be able to go a distance. A colt by Glenheim Stella, is a half brother to Chaos and Star and Garter, and a son of Glenheim Loo is a half brother to Ed Tlerney. The other two-year-olds include a chestnut filly by Watercress The Task, a bay colt by Solitaire II. Georgianna II., a bay colt by Plaudit Pride of the Barn, a chestnut colt named Convllle, by Dieudonne Gualala and a chestnut colt by Dieudonne Car-ness. Mr. Bennington also has ten three-year-olds at Gravesend which may be factors in some of the eastern stakes. They include First Water, which has not raced since last June; Edna Jackson, which reverted to Mr. Bennington after Senator McCarrens lease of her running qualities expired last fall; Voorhees. a sturdy colt which also raced in the McCarren silks; Green Room. Gold Badge, Waterbearer and several others that did not face the barrier at all last year because .of Illness. .Among -the lattec are Afric Queen and Black Gem, a colt by Solitaire II. Break oDay. Trainer Burlew will have the services of Frank ONeill, one of the best jockeys in the profession again this year, which makes the combination as strong as ever. The stable will be ready for business when Aqueduct opens and will bear watching.
