VAN METER TO TRAIN FOR WERNBERG. Los Angeles, Cal., March 0. The horses of M. H. Ticheuor and Co., now racing here will be sold at auction in the naddock at Ascot Park next Satur-dav. The string now comprises nine, among them being Good Luck. Hammeraway, Rustling Silk, Ma-cumber and Doctor C. J. J. McCafferty who was suspended for one yeai for "doping" The Huguenot, sold his horses here today. Handmaiden went to Denny Brothers for ; George Swain to Al Goodiu for 60 and Pot-rero Grande to C. A. Ross for ,200. Chickadee vas disposed of privately. The horses belonging to J. A. Wernberg. among them Big Ben and Charley, will be shipped east m about ten days. Frank Van Meter has been engaged by Wernberg to do his training.
