Little Boot was quickly in motion and, racing away from his opponents on the far turn, was going fastat the end and linished well within himself. Irena A. went well, but was driving to the limit at the end to stall off Black Flag. The latter saved ground on the turn into the homestretch and, finishing fast, would have been second in another stride. Sister Peggy ran well. Siss Lee was saved from the early pace and waited with until rounding the turn into the homestretch, then went around the leaders and, catching Benvolio at the furlong post, won going away. Benvolio moved up fast on the far turn and disposed of- Locbgoil when straightened out for the final run, but had nothing left when the suddenly improved winner challenged and tired under a drive. Small Talk came again at the end and outgamed Loehgoll. Miss Rillie had a rough trip and did not run her race. Lochgoil put up an extra good performance for him. Arab finished well. Sailor Boy ran one of his occasional good races, rushing to the front on the backstretch, and opened up a winning lead, but was hard ridden all of the last furlong to stall off Tarp. Tarp was outrun in the early stages, but closed up on the far turn, slipped through on the inside on the turn into the homestretch and outgamed Garnish in the final drive. Ills weight told on the latter when it came to the final drive and his race was below his true form. Devout quit when Mclntyre drew his whip. Robin Hood ran an excellent race, but could never shake off Astarita and tired In the last eighth. Astarita showed great speed, but was on the outside of the leaders for the entire trip. It was a three-horse race all the way. Orbicular was not persevered with. Precious Stone went well. Nutwood can do better.
