NO BETTING LIKELY AT SALEM. The Supreme Judicial Court of New Hampshire In response to Inquiries from Governor McLane.has said that poolselling and bookmaking Is in violation of the laws pf that state and that bookmakers and pool-sellers can be enjoined by civil action and punished by criminal agitation against the proposed New England Breeders Club to hold a meeting at the new and costly track at Salem. The stakes for this meeting are closing today. The officers of the club have not made any announcement since the decision was handed down by the court, but from New York comes the statement that dates allotted to Rockingham Park by the Jockey Club will be filled, even if the racing has to be conducted without betting.
