Start good. Won driving; second the same. Orderly wan away well and, making the running all the way, secured the best going in the stretch, which enabled Mm to last long enough to win. J. I. Mc. ran a game race, but tired in the last few strides. Marimbo finished fast and gamely. Mathis was kept far back until straightened out for home, when he closed with a whirlwind rush and would have won in a few more strides. Doc Wallace showed early speed, but tired badly. Miss Martha showed much the most speed, broke In her stride, spreadeagled her opponents and won eased up. Merry Leap Year kept within striking distance and finished gamely, beating Ingenue In the final stride. Tlie latter lost some ground on the stretch turn, but not enough to change the result. Lady Henrietta broke flntfooted, but at once rushed to the front and oiened up a winning lead, but Aubuchon took things easy in tlie stretch and came near losing the race. Dan McKenna came with a great rush In the stretch showed his old-time gameness and barely failed to get up. Densie Densmore showed speed, but tired from chasing the winner and just lasted long enough to save third place. Rolln ran a race away below his usual form. Pentagon finished fast. Attention gained a momentary lead in the stretch and was carried out by Pedro, width might have affected the result. . Reside broke well, but fell back and, coining again in the stretch, finished fast. Azele received a bad ride and was taken all over the track. Attila, away well, was taken back and then sent to the front, at the half-mile post, lost ground when turning into the retch and momentarily lost the lead but, rallying quickly, came again and was going away at the end. polinda made the running nearly all the way and was not beaten until the finish was reached. Captain Bob was. hard ridden all the way and finished well under punishment. Oak Leaf showed early speed but was tiring fast in the last sixteenth. Dr. Nowlln fenced well, but ran far below his real form" Trenet the Mere went fairly well. Madoc was running well when he fell. Fille dOr was sent to the jumps too fast and will improve.
