Percentage showed his usual Hash of early speed and sprinted away from his opponents in the first furlong, but tired after hehad gone three furlongs. Triumphant began slowly and was crowded back at the start, but made up ground and came with a rush in the last quarter. Willetta was speedy and ran a good race. Flip finished close up. Fort Hunter dropped hack on the turn out of the backstretch, then came again under punishment in the stretch run and pulled up very lame. Mandator was interfered with and crowded lvack on the turn into the backstretch, then closed a big gap and should have won. Thomoud set the early pace and came again at the end under a drive.
