Yankee Gun outbroke, outpaced and outstayed his opponents, Is fast and game and a coining good one. Arimo was the only serious contender and but for being shut off early and forced to come around on the outside on the turn might have won. Judge Davey, shufiled to the rear at the start, closed a big early gap into an easy third. Tilelng got away poorly and quickly closed a big early gap, but this effort tired him .in the closing struggle. Llnnepee put up a fast and game race and is worth remembering. Nancy, a good looker, ran as If short, showed early speed and tired. Jacinta disliked the going. Zebedee is very mod-erate. Yorkshire Lad outclassed the others In the going, got away slowly, but surely overhauled his opponents under a confident looking ride", making good decisively with a rush right at the end. .Verlbest outbroke the others and set a stiff pace for seven furlongs, finished gamely anil is a good mudlark. Memories helped to force the early pace, running lapped on the leader for seven furlongs, but went wide on the last turn and tired slightly at the end. Umbrella, from a flying start, made the running to the final sixteenth, where she was caught and succumbed readily to the winners challenge. Magna Stella, away badly; closed a big gap and was going like a shot at the end. Winifred Tarpey finished well and is promising. Refined steadily Improved her position from a poor send-off. Dulclnea showed superior early speed and momentarily appeared dangerous on the last turn, but tired badly in the closing drive. Lachesis tired badly in the going after showing early speed. Proper, from a lucky start, was reserved under a pull behind the pacemaker to he stretch, where he took the lead and appeared the winner, but suddenly tired. Maxle Witt steadily improved his position, coming at the end Jike a good one and earning third place. Oxford made the" running for seven furlongs and then tired, being handicapped by the mud. Coy Maid was never dangerous. Inquisitor was hopelessly outrun from the start. Brush Up set the early pace, but was tiring badly right at the end. Brook-dale held his position- throughout the early running, finished fast and is more than useful. Van Ness got away badly and, closing an immense gap, might have won if off well. Melbourne Nominee was going well at the id. Rob Roy failed to stay after a display of speed. Ballot Box closed a gap. Holscher is ImprovJug. trailed far In the rear for half the journey and closed up rapidly in the stretch. Samson apparently could not run well in the stiff going. Optician got away poorly and was frequently pulled up. once so sharply that he nearly fell. Merrick was closing up at the end and ran a good race.
