SANFARA WINS LEATHERS! 0 CKING STAKES. Her Third Victory in Fixed Events at Buffalo-Murrays Starting Receives Applause.- Buffalo, N. Y., June 2S. Sanfara, already a double stake winner at the Kenilworth Park meeting added further to her laurels by capturing the Leatherstoeklng Stakes, the most pretentious event of todays card, from Earl Rogers with Hannibal Bey third. So far as the actual contention for premier honors was concerned it lay from start to finish with the placed horses. Sanfara, away in the middle of the bunch, forged to the front at the half mile ground and, taking a comfortable lead around the far turn, held undisputed charge of affairs to the end with plenty in reserve. Earl Rogers was her closest attendant throughout, hut was doing ills best at the end to withstand the determined rush of Hannibal Bey, which suffered from considerable interference in the early stages of the dash. The transferring .of starter A. B. Dade to Salem gave William Murray the opportunity to make his debut under Jockey Club auspices here today. Without detracting from the well known ability of j Mr. Dade, it was acknowledged on all sides that Murrays work was eminently satisfactory. The I I last race of the day was at one mile with the start in front of the stand and gave the spectators an I1 opportunity to show its appreciation of Murrays work which they did in a warm round of applause.
