Prince of ,Pless, also liking the sloppy going and away forwardiy, steadily improved his postioii and was going gamely at the end. Joe Shields, away in a tangle, closed a good gap and got up in the final stride for third place. Posing showed speed, but tired badly after going .live furlongs. Free Booter, well ridden, was restrained to the stretch, where he gradually forged into tin lead and won drawing away. Banposal, favored by the going and away forwardiy. showed the most early speed, but tired near the end. Mayor Johnson, hard ridden, rail a good race and came fast near tiie end. Zinda closed a gap and was taken wide most of the way. Piatt was an early contender, lut tired affer going a half. Potter showed Improved speed and ran forwardiy for a half. Oasis, away poorly and badly ridden, ran a bail race and can do much better. Sand Bath failed to show much speed. Major Daingerfleld was left at the post, ran a winning race and, with an even start, would have won off by-himself. Uncle Henry tired badly in the final drive and seemingly disliked the sloppy going. Tern s Rod, was never a serious contender. Nonie Lucille retired after going a half and ran a bail race, much Delow her true form. Oveiaudo ran forwardly from the start and raced Ilelinuth into exhaustion, but tired in the final drive. Helmuth, favored by the going showed speed, but tired and had to do his best to last long enough to save third place. Levia was close up in the early stages, but went wide into the stretch and tired in the final drive. The others were always outrun. The latter had no mishaps, was always a game contender and stayed well in ihe final drive. Early Hours came fast at the end and ran a good race. Mint Boy was away badly and taken wide throughout, closed a hig gap, but was badly ridden near the end and tired badly. The latter was close up in the early running and, being well handled near the end, was gaining steadily. Docile had no mishaps and ran a fairly good race. The Only Way was probably best, but was taken back on the first turn and kept far out of active contention for the first three-quarters, then responded well to weak urging and, when going fastest, flriilltli stopped tiding hard, thereby losing 1dm third place. Juba ran a dull race and can do much better. Flaiumula showed speed.
