GOOD FEATURES PROVIDED AT SARATOGA. Down east the scene of racing shifts antl from tomorrow to August 30, the sport will flourish at Saratoga and those denizens of New York who cannot spare the time and cash required for a sojourn at the Place of Healing Waters, will have to forego the pleasure of witnessing the gallant thoroughbreds in action until Futurity day summons all hands to Sheepshead Bay. Apparently the Saratoga meeting will lack in none of the elements of attraction characteristic of former turf reunions there. The best horses of the east and west are gathered there and racing of the highest class is assured in advance. Three rich stakes the Saratoga Steeplechase, Flash Stakes and the Saratoga Handicap are down for decision tomorrow. The list of probable starters for each event is printed elsewhere in this issue of Daily Racing Form. The Mohawk Stakes, for three-year-olds, under selling conditions at a mile and an eighth, will be the stake feature of Tuesday afternoon. Inquisitor, Bulls Eye, Belmere, Gary, Wes, Albert F., Lady Navarre, James Reddick, Clark Griffith. Guiding Star. Security, Disobedient, Monterey, Gallavant and Miss Hawley appear the pick of the nominations. Wednesday afternoon will bring about the decision of the 0,000 Spinaway Stakes, for two-year-old fillies; distance five and a half furlongs. This is one of the principal events of the year for fillies of that age and among those eligible are Mentha, Court Dress, Misgivings, Glamor, Estimate, Betsy Binford, Yankee Girl, Dollie Dollars, Fantastic, Hyperbole, Toddles, Bar-barv Belle, Jersey Lady, Killicrankie and a number of dark ones including the Sanford pair -Danoscara and Kennyetto. Thursday has the Alabama Stakes for three-year-old fillies as its principal feature. It is a dash of a mile and an eighth, for ,000. of which ,000 falls to the winner. Perverse, Brookdale Nymph, Rose of Gold, Hazelthorpe, Sne Smith, Edna Jackson, Running Water, Single Shot; Watergrass, Bel-gravia, Comedienne, Tipping. Malcliff and Irish Girl II., are the prominent candidates. No stake race is provided for Friday, but Saturday makes up for tills by having three set for decision the North American Steeplechase, Saratoga Special and Travers Stakes. In the North American entries appear the names of such good jumpers as Fallaheen, Alfar, Mackey Dwyer. Gold Van, Pagan Bey, Kernel, Arian, Prince of Pllsen, Kassll, Grandpa. Uylas, Black Hussar, Paul Jones. Jimmy Lane, Delcanta, Ben Crockett, Balzac, Caller, Coligny, Commoudale and El Cuchlllo. In the "nominations to the famous Saratoga Special, for two-year-olds, are such cracks as Rosemount, Salvidere. Superman, Peter Pan, Ballot, Gretna Green. Bat Mastcrson. Charles Edward, Water Pearl, De Mund, Aletheuo, Golf Ball and the unknown Sanford trio Rockstone, Flint Hill and Sir William Johnson. The race will be worth approximately 5,000 to the winner this year, besides gold plate of the value of ,o00. The Travers Stakes Is the longest established American stake for three-vear-olds, having been first run in 1864, when It "was won by the famous old-time racer Kentucky. Last year it was won by Dandelion. It is a dash of a mile and a quarter with Ormon-dale, Accountant. Belmere, Albert F., Vendor, Mandarin. Mohawk II., Bulls Eye, Bohemian, Perverse. Kuroki, Ben Hodder. Gallavant, Jacobite, Old Faithful, Ironsides and Pegasus among those eligible to start
