King Pepper was reserved to the turn Into the homestretch, where he swung to the extreme outside, finished with a rush through the last furlong and wa going away In the last sixteenth. Blue Coat quiekly rushed to the front and, setting the pace, showed much speed In the going, but tired under punishment. Wlllowdeno, outrun in the early stages, had to work his way up on the outside, finished gamely under a drive and just managed to get up in time to beat Garrett Wilson. The latter finished on the outside in the heaviest going. Alsono made a bad showing in view of his last previous race. Attention found a track that suited her, rushed to the front when the start came and set the pace all the way, raced Cascabcl into defeat in the first half and just managed to last long enough to stall off Charles L. Stones challenge. The latter, outrun in the early stages, was rated along until straightened out for home, then came with a rush in the last furlong and finished gamely under punishment. Beatrice II. was on the inside in the heaviest gtflng all the way. Ozanue tired when it came to a drive after moving up and making a determined challenge on the turn into the homestretch. Lulu Young was rated along in behind Manzano for the first two turns of the field, then rushed to the front and, opening a winning lead, was well in hand all of the last quarter. Gipsano fenced well and put up a fine performance, but was always outrun. Sigmund wore the tiring Manzano down In the run on the fiat and caught and passed him in the last sixteenth. John Carroll was well handled, went to the leaders when the start came and forced Crowshade and then Peter Paul to set a fast pace, was on the outside in the best going all the way, rushed into a winning lead just before entering the homestretch and held the race safe all of the last quarter. Alma Dufour was kept well to the inside where the going was goood and outgamed Crowshade when It came to the final drive. The latter had all the luck In the race and ran well, considering that lie was outclassed. Peter Sterling was buffeted about all the way, was cut off on the first turn and again on the backstretch, then was forced down Into the deep going when rounding the far turn. The latter finished gamely and was wearing the leaders down at the end. Nellie Racine moved up on the turn into the stretch, but tired under a drive. Gracchus closed a big gap and finished fast. Orderly ran cn the outside of Amador until well around the far turn and forced the latter to set a fast pace, came to the outside on the turn Into the homestretch and, finishing with a rush through the last sixteenth, was going away at the end. Oleasa, outrun for the first half, worked her way up on the inside and appeared the winner at the furlong post, where she had a lengths advantage, but tired badly in the last fifty yards. Richard Jr. raced forwardly all the way and was a keen contender for the entire trip. Ingolthrift and Gay Boy finished fast. Edwin Gum was made much use of in racing Redwood II. and Orfeo Into subjection and forcing the pace and kept bearing to the outside all through the last sixteenth. Scarecrow ran well, but tired in the last furlong. Orfed showed speed and was eased up at the end. Redwood II. ran to his best form over a fast track.
