HORACE E. PULLS UP LAME AFTER WORKOUT. Is Out of Training Jack Atkin and Oiseau Sick Water Pearl Has Recovered. Saratoga, N. Y., August 17. Jack Atkin, Barney Schrelbers Futurity candidate, has been temporarily thrown out of training. The trouble has been diagnosed as blood poisoning In a mild form. The left fore ankle is considerably swollen, due, it is thought, to a sting from some poisonous insect. It is suffi-cent, however, to prevent his starting in the big Coney Island feature. Oiseau is afflicted with skin eruption somewhat similar in character to that which proved fatal to Sysonby. Horace E. has been shelved on account of lameness, caused by gravel having worked its way up into his right forefoot. After his work this morning Raineys crack two-year-old pulled up so sore that he could hardly put his foot to the ground! The published reports that Water Pearl had broken down are not true. Trainer Joyner informed Daily Racing Form today that Mr. Iagets colt had been ill, but was now fully recovered aud would be a starter in the Futurity.
