CONDENSED HISTORY OF THE TWIN CITY HANDICAP. The Twin City is now the most valuable of American autumn handicaps and this years winner will reap for its owner almost as much money as did the winners of the Brooklyn and Suburban handicaps. If the ten named to start all run the net result to the winner will be 4,37:5. It has always been a race of sensations, falling to an extreme outsider when the Longfellow colt, Tom Martin, won it for Peter Fox in 2884 from nearly all the handicap stars of the day. Billy Lakeland, whose colt, Electioneer, won the Futurity yesterday, carried off the Twin City twice with his great campaigner. Exile. In more recent years the event was marked by an exciting dead heat between Ethelbert and Jack Point and in about the only race of his career down east in which he was, in condition to run to his true form McCbesney decisively defeated Hermis. The history of the race is as follows: Year. First. Age. Jockeys. Wt. Second. Age. Wt. Third. Age. Wt. Vai.
