TO PLAY POLO IN SARATOGA INFIELD. There is some talk of levelling off a portion of the Infield at Saratoga , to be used for, polo games next season. The - surveys that have been made show there is ample room for a playing field without interfering in any way with the steeplechase course, and strong efforts will be made to get the management to consent to the plan. "It would be a great attraction to thousands who are now compelled to drive to the other end of town." says the New York Sun. "The games could be played after the races and could be perfectly viewed from the grandstand. Several of the directors of the Saratoga Racing Association have expressed themselves in favor of the plan, and if official consent is secured work will be begun to level off the ground, with the idea of getting the sod on again before cold weather sets in."
