TORONTO MEETING OPENS AUSPICIOUSLY. Wexford Is Disqualified for Foul in Feature Race Jockey Dealy Is Suspended. Toronto, Ont., September 15. The autumn meeting of the Ontario Jockey Club opened at the Woodbine track this afternoon under most favorable auspices. Fully 10,000 people were on hand , and with weather and track conditions of the best the racing furnished good sport. All of the finishes were close and hard fought with the exception of the last race, whichFactotum captured rather easily. Jockey Dealyfell afoul of the judges in the fourth race, the Toronto Autumn Cup, the feature of the day, and iu consequence the boy will be on the ground for the remainder of the meeting. JHs mount Wexford swerved in the stretch, interfering with Solon Shingle. Wexford was disqualified and Solon Shingle given first place, with Alma Dufour second and Inferno third. The latter, although favorite In the betting, was not fancied by the public and received little .support. The steeplechase for novices was, a spectacular affair. Several of the jumpers refused and others stumbled, throwing their riders. Happily none of the riders was hurt. . Dick Dwyer officiated at the barrier and his work was of the gilt edge order. The same officials were in the stand that officiated at the spring meeting.. John Dyments Tongorder, his. only bread winner, is sick at Woodbine with a high fever.
