Aotlng, poorly handled and going wide most of the way, finished gnmel.v pnder ..1 hard drive and. got up in the final stride for second place. Sir Mincemeat showed line speed, but was away poorly and had to close a big gap early to get into contention, causing him to tire near the end. Bonart had a rough trip, was knocked back soon after the start and closed a big gap in the stretch after going wide. Mediant had scant chance with his poor start and ran a good race. The last three at the start were praclicalljL left. Platoon, lucky and clear of interference, opened up a long lead from the start and, malutalnlng his speed, steadily held the others safe all the way, winning with plenty in reserve. Hannibal Bey put up a ?ame effort and finished fast, but was not good enough to beat the winner at the weights. Lady Esther showed -gopd-ternr, bjatsuffcred-much from interference and had to close a big gap, finished gamelv and outstayed Meadowbreeze in the filial drive. The latter, away well and clear of interference, showed a good performance.
