H. B. DURYEA PAYS 1,000 FOR PAUMONOK. Tradition Brings ,200 Good Prices Rule at Sale of Horses in Training. New York, September 15. John A. Drake and Newton Bennington had a clearing out sale of their horses, and east offs from other stables were disposed of. There was a large crowd present and the prices realized were far above the average. The star of he sale was Paumonok, the crack two-year-old of the Bennington string, which was bought by II. B. Duryea for 1,000. John Mackey bought Tradition for ,200. Auctioneer William Easton Is ill at his home in Sheepshead Bay and threatened with pneumonia.
