CHEER CLIFTON. FORGE. LITTLE CHESTNUT HORSE IS A LIFE SAVES FOR WOODBINE TALENT. Inferno Wins in a Canter Jockey McHenry Is In jurod No More Entries from C. C. Mc-Cafferty Trainer Phair Is Fined. Toronto, Ont. September 19. The slaughter of the favorites still continues at Woodbine. Only two flrst choices won today; one of them at prohibitive odds. This was Inferno, closing at 1 to 5 and coupled with Slaughter. Mr. Seagram declared to win with Inferno and the colt simply romped home. The steeplechase furnished the usual number of. mishaps. Six out of the nine starters came to grief at different stages of the journey. The only rider who suffered any Injury was McHenry. He had an ugly fall when Rising Sun went down at next to the last jump. When McHenry returned to the stand blood was streaming down his face, making his features hardly recognizable. Clifton Forge was the only heavily supported winner and when he passed the judges there was a mighty, yell.. Jockey Koerner continued his good work today by lauding two winners and two seconds. He was once outside the money. The stewards were not satisfied with the race run by Joe Coyne yesterday and have recommended that the entries of C. C. McCafferty, the owner of the horse, be refused the remainder of the meeting. C. Phair, trainer for A. M. Orpen, has been fined 00 for harboring jockey Perrine .after he had been? notified that the lioy was under contract to John Walters. Trainers and owners are warned against, harboring. -
