HAMILTON MEETING TO CLOSE WEDNESDAY. Directors Vote Down Extension Proposition Races Are Run in a Driving Rain. Hamilton, Out., September- 29, The races today were run In a pouring rain and on a track that was a Veritable sea of mud. A card of seven races, containing a steeplechase, a race for gentlemen riders, and a handicap at one and a quarter miles, the latter the feature, was offered and notwithstanding the bad weather and track some interesting, .sport was witnessed. Cholk Hedrlck displayed ability as a mud runner by annexing the feature with Reservation, backed into favoritism, a poor second. The six furlongs -race for gentlemen riders, was easily taken by Chatelaine, an outsider in the betting. Kilts, the winner of the sixth race, was the only winning favorite of .the day. Three books dropped out today, leaving eighteen in line. At a meeting of the directors it vas decided not to extend the present meeting beyond October 3, the original date of closing.
