BOOTS HAS A BIG STRING. Los Angeles, Cal., October 3. C. T. Boots, proprietor of Elmwood Farm, who raced Borghesi, The Borgian, Creston Boy and a lot. of other winning horses at Ascot last season, has the largest number of horses now stabled at the local racecourse. In the lot are about twenty head of yearlings, mostly by Brutus, the sire of Borghesi and The Borgian: Borghesi Is at the track and Boots believes the Ascot Cup winner will be a much Improved horse next season. In winning the Ascot Cup, Borghesi ran the two miles in 3:27, which is one and a quarter seconds slower than the American record.
