Lakeland bought The Picket, llrff t because he believes the winner of the -American Derby . of 1.903 and. the Brooklyn Handicap of 1904, the conqueror of Ilermis and Irish Lad, lias another first class race or so in him, and, secondly,- because he believes after the. old horse has dellvered.-those races he will make a first class stud proposition. The Picket is of the line old American family of Falsetto, It is a Tunning family, and a stout one.
