Dr. Gardner far outclassed the others and decisively outbroke, outpaced and outstayed his opoositlon, winning all the war like a crackerjack. Sister Frances, a good Ally, after going the first furlong, was always in nearest pursuit of the favorite and challenged with superior gameness in the closing drive. Astronomer ran prominently to the stretch, where he tired, but gamely earned third place despite the hard track and is very good for him. Single Shot, outpaced from the start and shuffled back on the back-stretch, finished with a belated end rush and should have been third. Water Tank ran forwardiy for six furlongs. Rye, away poorly, went hopelessly wide on the turns, dropped to the rear early and came at the end with a belated rush. Aviston showed superior early speed. Colonel Jack, from a striding start, got in immediate pursuit of the early pacemaker, passed him on the last turn and just got home after an early closing drive. Pungent closed a big gap in the first quarter into second position, where lie followed the leader closely to the last half and was wearing him down at the end. Mintberia, shut off early, made up a lot of ground in the last half and was going like a cyclone at the end. Gallant Dan closed a big gap from a poor start. Taunt failed to stay after showing superior early speed. Dollie Dollars had a rough journey all the way, never had clear sailing and finished with a rush. Cobleskill, nearly left, made up much ground. Bertmont and Irene A. both failed to stay after a display of early speed. Scratched 623GlBIue Dale, 101; 048S3 Nadlne, 09. "Woodsman got away poorly, but closed a big gap and finished with a belated end rush under an inadequate ride. Adonis, shuffled to the rear on the first turn, made up ground rapidly in the middle half and tired slightly at the end of a good race. Gypsy King developed superior speed for six furlongs and tired. Stoic, knocked back at the start, had no chance, made up ground in the middle half and then tired. Tarlac, nearly left, made up a lot of ground. On the Eve and Renault both showed early speed.
