J. E. SEAGRAMS TWENTY FOALS OF 190S. Twenty foals twelve colts and eight fillies have been dropped at J. E. Seagrams establishment at Waterloo, Ontario, this year. Eleven of these youngsters are by the St. Simon horse Mllner. Here is the list: Bv Milner bay colt out of Wink: bay colt Merry Carrie; bay colt Princess Flavia; bay -filly Frome; bay colt Homelike; bay eolt Bon Ino; bay colt Dinard; chestnut colt Fairlie Head; chestnut colt Ladys Maid; bay filly Veracious. By Pershore brown colt out of Xenia; brown colt Glycera. . By Golden Badge brown filly, out of lair Ninet-sin. , Bv Havoc bay filly, out of Martyrdom. By Morpheus bay filly, out of New Dance. The other four are put of mares which were purchased by Mr. Seagram at the dispersal, sale of the Rancho del Paso Stud in New York last December, and which were at that time in foal, having been mated with stallions at Mr. Haggiua California; ranch the previous spring. They are: Bay filly, by Star Ruby Mordant. , Chestnut filly, by Goldfinch La Paz. I Chestnut colt, by Paladin Sibyl. Bay colt, by Toddington Delicia. For Mordant Mr. Seagram paid ,050; for Ltf Paz 1906.sh00; for Delicia 00, and for Sibyl 50. He bought also at that sale Marionette for 50; Co-quille for 00; Glenolia for 50, and Wenabur for ,200, but he has no foals from them. The filly by Havoc Martyrdom, 13 a full sister1 to Slaughter, this years Kings Plate winner. It will be interesting to watch if the son of Mllner and Bon Ino, proves as good as the dams other son Inferno and if the, produce of Pcrshore and Glycera proves as speedy as Flying Amber. There should be some great prospects among this score o youngsters, for there is some rare breeding. There is no reason why a colt by a St. Simont horse out of a Hampton mare, like the colt by Mllner, out of Merry Carrie, should not be as good as any bred anywhere. He and one or two others will probably be entered for the Derby of 1909, lu England, if they winter well. Mr. Seagram, it is understood, being most anxious to honor his honorary membership of the English Jockey Club by having a Canadian-bred candidate, and perhaps a likely, one, for the greatest of English classics.
