Gold Enamel, suddenly improved, closed a big gap, wore Operator and Parkville down in the stretch run and outstayed the former in the final drive. Operator ran well, but was carried wide on the turn into the homestretch and tired in the last sixteenth, but held on gamely. Miss Gaiety finished fast after being messed about in the early stages. Parkville ran well to the stretch. There was a jam at the half-mile post and Many Thanks fell. The other two fell over her. Scratched 64952 Collision, 105. Fire Alarm raced Bessie Wynn into defea; on the far turn, fought it out gamely with Reside through the last furlong and outstayed him under punishment. Reside was crowded back soon after the start, but saved ground all the way and finished last and resolutely. Charley AVard had to go around and worked his way up on the outside Into a fast going third. Ponemah. crowded back at the start, ran a winning race, closed a big gap and finished close up. The latter was messed about all through the race, went wide at several of the jumps and would have been second in another stride. Bery Waddell tired and was eased up at the end.
