COOK MAY SHI? YEARLINGS TO THE COAST. Lexington, Ky., October 27. Fred Cooks-fifteen yearlings, now at the Kentucky Association course, in charge of Charles Dodson, will likely be taken to California by trainer .BUlhillips whoa.;the-laa account, had concluded to campaign his older horseif on the coast the coming winter. The Cook yearlings have gone through a mild case Of distemper in the last week and none of them has been recently doing much fast work. Phillips originally intended to leave the youngsters here all winter inDodsons care, and he will carry out this program yet If he decides within the next week or two to abandon his California campaign, which he is liable to do as hastily as he conceived the idea of going to- the far West a week ago. Cook will book In California the coming winter and that fact may have something to do with Phillips movements with the big stable. Two of the yearlings Dodson first took for Phillips turned out to be of "such little promise that they have been shipped to Louisville and will be broken to harness and used as driving horses. A colt by Ben Stroine out of Marie Shanklln, has worked the best of the lotj going a quarter in :23. He is a half brother to Copperfleld and Benckart and was. foaled the property of a local doctor. Phillips bought him privately.-
