NEW SOIL ON OAKLAND TRACK. San Francisco, Cal., October 27, The prospects for the coming season of racing grow brighter with each succeeding day, and it now looks- as if the class of horses will be the best since- the turf war between the Oakland and Tranforan tracks. The entries close next Monday, and this will, give an additional line on the eastern stables that contemplate racing here. All the big stables that raced here last season will be again represented. There will be also many new stables, Including .those of Sam HiUireth, Enoch Wlshard, C. E. Durnell, Green B. Morris, S. McXaugkton, and J. T. Muir will swell the list of the new comers, and it looks as if Oakland stakes will get about 125 horses from New York, while the middle west should be good for 150 more. Jim Grant, the new superintendent of the California Jockey Club tracks, Is at bib post at Oakland, having returned from New: York last Monday. The Oakland track has been reclayed and appears to be in fast condition. It has a soft dressing and should be admirably adapted" io horses that have doubtful underpinning:
