Emergency from a good start, quickly established a good early position, drew out in the last quarter and hud matters his own wav to the end. Mintia ran in close pursuit of the pacemakers and loomed up well midwav of the stretch, but tired at the end and was a lucky second. Reticent, away badly, closed an immense gap, Avas coming like a shot at the end and might have won with a good start. Battleaxe got awav poorly, but finished well and can do better. Grace Curtis showed brilliant early speed, but failed io stay. The Major steadily improved his position and was gaining fast at the end. Cloisteress had a hard Journev from the start. Glvonni Balerio tired and quit badly. Yama Christy trailed overlong in the rear and could not overcome the long lead of Expansionist until a half mile from the finish, then closed a big gap and was going fastest of the tAvo at the end. Potash is a good looker, ran prominently for the first mile, but lost ground with the accelerated pace and then came again in the last quarter.
