Beau Iirunnnel, Avell handled and showing good form, forced a fast pace from the start and, taking the lead in the stretch, held the others safe in the final drive. The Golden Bird had a rough trip and finished with a rush through the stretch. Tanbark Avas in close quarters most of the Avay and was gaining fast at the end. Hattie Rodman showed the most early speed, but tired badly- after going a half. - Refined was poorly handled and can do better. Western showed improved form. St. Tammany began with his customary slowness, but finished fast arid gamely. Gladiator had a rough trip and can do better. Rebounder tired near the end. Shawana, luckv throughout, Avas sent Into a long lead from the start and, standing a hard drive gamely through the last furlong, held Dr. Leggo safe and Avon with something in reserve. The latter stumbled soon after the start and suffered from additional interference in colliding with Miss Lida on the first turn, then closed a big gap in the last three-quarters, but tired slightly in the final drive. Telegrapher had no mishaps, ran well and is in goo-d form at present. Incubator ran a fairly good race. Miss Lida had scant chapee after meeting with interference on thq first turn.
