Burleigh, from a rear start, raced quickly Into forward contention and drew out in the stretch and won going away. Military-Man ran in -strenuous pursuit of the leaders throughout, but was outsprlnted by the winner in the last furlong and is best in soft going. Mansard was a prominent contender all-the way, but tired finally as if short. St. Winlfride was closing up, well at the end., St. Denis, shuttled to the rear early, closed a gap in the last half.- Sheen set a stiff pace for five furlongs. Bvronerdale is fresh and good, outbroke the others and won all the way, but was lucky. Lazell, away poorly, steadily improved his position and, finishing with a belated rush, was best. Atkins was a prominent contender for seven furlongs, but tired at the end. Jack Little was forced to the rear on the first turn and closed up well afterwards. Salable, after a flash of early speed, dropped to the rear after going the first quarter and was never dangerous. Jackfull was a forward contender for six furlongs and tired as if short. Tony Faust, from a flying start, ran in close early pursuit of the pacemaker, drew out in the stretch and, just lasting long enough, swerved under punishment and was lucky. Native Son was flatfooted at the start and knocked repeatedly to the rear, but closed up rapidly in the last three furlongs and just failed . to get up. Melltah. from a flying start In an outside position, set the early pace and stood a long closing drive gamely. Canique closed a big gap from a bad start. Utlca loomed up well on the last turn, but failed at the end. Plausible, shut oft early and knocked to the rear, made up much ground, hut is best In mud. Fred Mulholland showed early speed. Corrigan, on the outside, enjoyed clear sailing and moved up rapidly in the middle half, joined the leaders in the stretch and outstayed the favorite In a hard drive. Logistllla, from a good start in an inside position, was shuflied to the rear on the backstretch and moved up simultaneously with Corrigan, but tired at the end as if short. Ruby made the running from the start and was skillfully nursed in front, but failed right at the end of a game effort. Dusty Miller was in forward contention throughout, was seriously bumped in the last sixteenth and should have been closer up. Northwest, away badly, closed a big gap, van a cracking race and might have won with an equal start. Christine A., nearly left, closed an Immense gap. Im Joe was a contender for six furlongs, but failed to stay. Dewey went very wide on the first turn. Boloman was running out on the turns and showed superior speed for six furlongs. Gypsy King, away badly, closed up rapidly, went wide on the last turn and into the lead when a furlong out, but gave way to the winner at the end of. a cracking race. Hector outbroke and outpaced the others for five furlongs, then tired and swerved to the inside under the whip. Kumiss tired in the Htretch after close and strenuous early pursuit of Hector. Sir Russell was shut off at the start and closed a tremendous gap, but is best in mud. Grasscutter was knocked out of her stride at the start and unable to raise a respectable gallop afterwards.
