BROOKS SAYS RACING IS ASSURED. Los Angeles, Cal., November 23. "We are going: to race at Ascot Park this season," said Manager J. W. Brooks tonight. "This fight has just begun. We have succeeded In stopping this annexation move and will thresh that out November 30. Meanwhile, on November 29, the first days racing will occur. We expect to continue the entire season." While the case drags through the courts the racing and bookmaklng will continue. A plan suggested by some of the track people yesterday probably would have been adopted had not the injunction proceedings been successful. This was the St. Louis method of running a poolroom a few hundred yards away just outside the city limits.
