ROSE SAYS A NEW LOCATION IS CERTAIN. Kext Racing- Ground of Los Angeles Jockey Club Will Be Well Away from City. Los Angeles, Cal., November 28. George Rose who is one of the chief stockholders in the Lo3 Angeles Jockey Club, says the club anticipates no difficulty in carrying out its plans for ninety days of racing at Ascot Park, but he says it is evident to him that the club will be forced to seek another location for its racetraek next season. Several locations are available, but none has been seriously considered as yet, and will not be until the directors take definite action in the premises. Mr. Rose assuredly is a law and order man, as he says that Ascot Park would not run in opposition to the law, but would seek to prevent any contingency that might make the future of the track even uncertain. Had all legal resources failed in saving to the club the privilege of running this winter, there would have been no attempt to defy the law and all talk of making raids upon the tracks are considered by him as uncalled for, inasmuch as the club never has entertained an Idea of defying the law. There has been much speculation as to the location that will be selected for the Los Angeles Jockey Clubs next track. The general impression prevails that the track will be located at Venice. This may be the result of the efforts of the club to secure a site that will meet the requirements in a satisfactory manner, but Rose is opposed to going to the seaside because of the belief that the soil is not of that nature upon which a good track could be built. Assuredly, a site will be selected that Is far enough removed from territory, that is being considered as desirable for annexation to avoid any future embarrassments of the nature of that through which the jockey club is passing at this time. Talk of a consolidation of the Los Angeles Jockey Club aud the Baldwin Racing Association is premature, at least, as none of the officials, of the rival tracks has discussed the subject and all deny that the subject has even been considered. Such a thing is not beyond the range of possibility, but at this time it is far from the thoughts of the interested persons.
