Won driving; second and third the same. Killochan was speedy and nevr farifrom the leaders, came away fast in the final drive and had something left at the end. Umbrella was always forward in the running and finished gamely. Ala Russell showed thr most early speed, Iiung on better than usual and only lost second place In the last few strides. Sophie Carter quickly raced into the front division and, coming fast through the stretch, managed to win out after being buruped by Bright Boy. The latter followed Narelle closely and took the lead in the stretch, but crowded Sophie Carter against Sally K. so abruptly that the latter was forced to be pulled up and for this was disqualified. Sally K. was best, ran well and would have won but for being fouled. Turbulence ran well throughout. High Jumper was never a dangerous contender. Tavannes was always in game pursuit, hung on well in the final drive and outgamed Nemesis. The latter showed the most early speed for a mile and a half, but tired in the stretch drive. Marster was easily best of the others and showed considerable speed, but tired right at the finish. Waterbearer went well, but was in close quarters throughout and was pocketed next to the rail in the stretch drive. Clolsteress can do much better. Marksman showed speed, but was tiring fast at the end. Frills quit badly in the stretch. Carmagnole was closing up when he fell. Blue Buck moved up with Voladay and finished fast and gamely. Chalfonte ran well and appeared the winner, but swerved badly in the stretch and this cost him second place. Ivanhoe showed the most early speed, but was raced to exhaustion in front and quit badly in the stretclii New York had no mishaps. Emperor of India ran a bad race. Red Knight would not break.
