MAHER WINS THE GOLD VASE. London, June 18. The great four-days meeting at Ascot was opened today with King Edward and many other notables present. Golden Measure, ridden by Danny Maber, won the race for the Gold Vase. Maher also won the Prince of Wales Stakes with QuAppclle, and finished second in two other races.
