STAKE RACING AT SARATOGA. For the time being racing in the Immediate vicinity of New York has ceased and the leading owners, great racers and star jockeys have gone north to spend a few pleasant weeks at Saratoga. The meeting of 1007 begins there tomorrow with an opening day card that promises high class racing, the ,000 Saratoga Steeplechase, 1907.sh,000 Flash Stakes and 0,000 Saratoga Handicap being the features of a remarkable attractive program. The probable starters in each of these events are named features of a remarkably attractive program. The Mohawk Stakes will lie rim off Tuesday afternoon. It Is a dash of a mile and an eighth for three-year-olds, under selling conditions and Gold Lady, Smiling Toin, Molesey, The Wrestler, Tenia ceo, J. U. Laughrey, Rio Grande, Botanist, Colonel .Tack, Ingham, Tourenne, .1. C. Core. Royal Onyx, Sara-einesea. Campaigner, Eddie Ware and Moufort are the horses from which the field will probably come. For Wednesday the Spiuaway Stakes for two-year-old llllies will be the stake attraction. It is a dash of five and a half furlongs and of the guaranteed value of 0,000, making it an important affair, naif Sovereign, Meggs II HI, Grande Dame, Aimee C, Beckon, Julia Powel, Stamina, Adriana, Red Bonnet, Winning Star, Desirous and Frances Ray may contest this rieli event. The Alabama Stakes for three-year-old fillies will be decided Thursday afternoon. It is at a mile and an eighth and of the guaranteed value of ,000; Court Dress, Yankee Girl, Kennyetto, Gold Lady, Belle of Iroquois, Danoscara, Estimate, Altuda and Adoration appear to be the best of the eligible. No stake is to be run Friday, but the North American Steeplechase, Saratoga Special and Travers Stakes will be decided Saturday afternoon. Practically every good steeplechaser of the time is in the North American. The Saratoga Special is much coveted by subscribing owners and may bring Colin, Chapultepec, King .Tames, Cohort, Chief Brant, Seymour Rentier, Burgher, Stamina, Beaucoup, Fort Johnson, Lady Winifred, Smoker and Masque to the post. The distance is three-quarters of a mile. For the Travels Frank Gill, Superman, Moufort, Golf Ball, Joseph Brant, Saraeinesca, George S. Davis, Rockstone, Cork Hill, Philander, Berwick, Arcite, Hickory and Don Enrique appear best. The distance Is a mile and a quarter and it has a guaranteed value of ,500.
