ORBY IS OUT OF THE ST. LEGER. A cablegram from Dublin yesterday brought the announcement that Orby will not start In the race for the great St. Leger at Doncaster September 11. It is said that the colt Is suffering from a strained tendon, and on the advice of a veterinary surgeon Richard Croker has decided not to send him to the post. Dr. McCahe, who is Mr. Crokers stud manager, is quoted as having said: "There is no chance of having Orby right for the WSt. Leger. He must have rest, and he Is getting It. He is much better than he was, but he came back from Liverpool all wrong. A veterinary surgeon who saw him pronounced him suffering from a leg, and he could never he trained again. But against this Is the fact that his leg was far worse when he first came under ray charge, and yet he was trained and won the two Derbys English and Irish. I feel confident, should the treatment I want to give him and am giving him he not Interfered i with, and he is properly cared for in his gallops, I Hint Orby will he out again in even better form 1han he was on Derby day this year. Nobody yet knows how good Orhy is, hut he had a leg before I got, him."
