Man-heiuier is a fast youngster, dashed into the lead at once and successfully proceeded to spreadeagle the others and won cantering. John P. Bergen got into second place early and held it without strenuous opposition. Supine ran well and was a fast going third. Polar Star ran moderately well. Virginia Maid fhowed erlv speed and ran well to the stretcli, but failed to stay. Taunt, a consistent lilly, set the early pace.but gave way to Coltnoss and followed the latter close up to the stretch, then challenged and, after a brief struggle, drew out and won going away. Coltness showed much speed, but tired when hard pressed and may not have been quite keyed up. LInnepee was a prominent and game contender all the way and outstayed Betsy Binford. The latter can do better. So can Rlacklock. Aunt Rose dashed into the lead in the first sixteenth and easily held her advantage to the end under a good rid?. Cymbal began slowly, but moved up rapidly into closest pursuit of the winner and was a fast going second. Hans closed a big gap in the final quarter and easily disposed of Parisian Modal for third place. Tne latter ran fairly well only and seems in poor form. Quadrille quickly dashed from the rear Into a good lead and, setting a very fast pace, showed the way to the stretch by a wide margin, but was tiring at the end and barely lasted long enough. Carthage began slowly, bat soon moved up into a favorable position, .but was poorly ridden in a belated rush, almost got up and should have won. Light Wool ran a good race and -finished fast. Hawkama showed superior early, speed, but tired in the stretch drive. Funlculaire ran fairly well only. Edwin Gum was short atd will do better. Javanese ran in improving form, set the pace fast and hung on gamely In the final drive. Mcllvaln ran fairly well, but finished a distant third. The others were beaten off. Flavigny was reserved in behind the pacemakers in the early running, but moved up rapidly on the far turn and, passing into the lead before reaching the homestretch, drew out and held the race safe to the finish. Kohnoflaw ran a surprisingly good race, finished fast and easily outstayed King of the Valley for second place. The latter made up ground and seemed dangerous momentarily in the stretch, but tired finally. Request ran well to the stretch; then quit all over.
