The latter showed the most early speed and set the pace until making the turn into the homestretch, where she came wide. Kunishaw, on the inside all the way, saved ground on the turns and would have won with a stronger rider. Gaga got away flying and" dashed to the front, setting the pace until the last eighth, where he began to tire. Giovanni Baggio was well up from the start and a keen contender all the way. Pontes quit under a drive in the last quarter. Sophomore showed no speed and trailed along in the rear all the way. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. McClain then took a strong hold of Cardigan and the latter was well in hand all of the last half. Pioneer was under a drive all of the last quarter to stall off The Chef. Emma G. shook off Tom Shaw when making the turn into the homestretch aud drew away into a lengths lead, but tired under punishment and was quitting at the end. Oroba broke slowly, but closed a big gap, made a determined effort on the turn into the homestretch, but was unable to improve her position in the last furlong. The winner was entered for 00: no bid.
