CONDENSED HISTORY OF THE OMNIUM HANDICAP. The first Omnium was won by Joquita, the property of the Kansas City horseman, William Mulkey, who died recently. Joquita was not much thought of by the easterners and went to the post at 20 to 1. . Bin the horse had been tniictly backed by a coterie of western people and when it won the bookmakers discovered that they had been levied on for an enormous sum of money, so much that the Joquita "killing" was talked about for years afterward as a notable achievement in that line. The race is the third and last of the autumn serials, the Fall and the Ocean being the other two.
